US-returned techie scours flat online, conned of Rs 89k

A US-educated aerothermal engineer, working for a technology MNC in the city, was duped of 89,000 by cyber fraudsters while looking online for rented accommodation in Gachibowli. The fraudsters posed as landlords and tricked him to pay for a non-existent one-bedroom flat. The victim is the son of the director of a prestigious academic institution in the state.
