At Rs 1.3L cr, Telangana trails only UP in outstanding guarantees

Telangana has the second highest outstanding guarantees in the country, with 1.35 lakh crore outstanding guarantees, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) state of finances document. Uttar Pradesh tops the charts with 1.71 lakh crore outstanding guarantees, while Andhra Pradesh stands third with 1.17 lakh crore outstanding guarantees. The three states alone account for a major share in outstanding guarantees, with the entire country having 4.07 lakh crore outstanding guarantees. Telangana's outstanding guarantees increased from 62,822 crore in 2014 to 1 lakh crore in 2021.
