Remembering the Telugu duo behind the Tricolour

The Indian national flag has a Telugu connection and the design was approved by Mahatma Gandhi. The concept of a national flag was first proposed by Pingali Venkayya, a lecturer from Vijayawada, in 1916. He submitted the draft design to Mahatma Gandhi during the AICC session in Vijayawada on March 31, 1921.
