
The medical fraternity in the city condemned the attack on Dr Michael Aranha and, as a mark of protest, all paediatric clinics and departments (in major hospitals) remained shut on Monday.The 24-hour-long ‘bandh’, doctors said, was to highlight the spurt in attacks on doctors and demand authorities take measures to stop them. Doctors felt an increase in ‘hooliganism’ was an indication of failing law and order.
